Final Bow For Ford’s Top-Selling Sedan

A mainstay in the automotive landscape bids a final farewell after serving motorists for nearly two decades. The Ford Fusion history spans from its beginnings in 2006 as the newest sedan model for Ford Motor Company to 2020, its final year in production. Along the way, it delivered exceptional performance, reliability, eco-friendly traits, and much more to masses around the country while evolving with the latest innovations. The Ford Fusion will go down in history as an icon within the automotive world, and its legacy will live on as many will continue to drive this magnificent sedan for hundreds of thousands of miles more. Ford has decided to primarily build crossover, SUV, and truck models, along with the Ford Mustang, with the market shifting in that direction. But while the Ford Fusion history is closing, you can still buy this fantastic model here at Preston Ford.

Ford spokesperson Sam Schembari expresses, “As promised, Ford is reinventing the car to match consumers’ preferences and growing our business by significantly expanding our North America sport utility vehicle portfolio with the all-new Bronco and Bronco Sport, all-electric Mustang Mach-E, and all-new versions of Escape and Explorer, America’s all-time best-selling SUV.”

Innovation Leader

The Ford Fusion history began when it replaced the Ford Taurus, and it quickly became a favorite with its efficient performance and premium amenities. This sedan model featured four trim levels, starting with the Ford Fusion S, Ford Fusion SE, Ford Fusion SEL, and concluding with the top-notch Ford Fusion Titanium. The second-generation Ford Fusion added hybrid and plug-in hybrid powerplant choices from the Fusion Energi. There are rumors the book may not be closed on the Ford Fusion, with rumors about a new chapter as a high-riding wagon possibly to come.

These record-breaking models stampeded the scene for over a decade until the second generation (1978-1979) evolved to a larger body-style, offering more luxurious features and sharing components with F-Series trucks. From 1980 to 1986, the third-generation Ford Bronco boasted a better fuel economy and a smoother ride without compromising its capability. Generation 4 (1987-1991) enters the “Aerodynamic Age,” while the fifth and final Ford Bronco generation made advances in safety and refined its original body style.
